How to Setup Call-In Microphone in the Conference Room for Zoom Meetings

Overview:

The following article shows you how to set the conference room phone as a microphone during virtual meetings.


Instructions:

  1. Open Zoom and login.
  2. Join a current meeting or start a new meeting.
  3. Once your meeting is open, select the "caret" (^) in the top right corner of the microphone button.

  1. Select "Switch to Phone Audio..."

5a. This will provide you with a list of numbers to dial. Any number can be dialed in order to enable phone audio.

5b. Using the Cisco phone, first DIAL 9 followed by one of the numbers provided on Zoom.

  1. You will then be prompted to enter the Meeting ID on the phone keypad followed by the # key. The location of the Meeting ID can be found in the image below. Note: Please enter the Meeting ID that is provided to you.
The meeting ID and Participant ID changes depending on the user logged in. This is merely for your reference and should NOT be inputted into your own meeting
  1. Next the phone will prompt you to enter the Participant ID on the phone keypad followed by the # key. The location of the Participant ID can be found in the image below. Note: Please enter the Participant ID that is provided to you.

  1. If all steps were successful, you should hear "You are in the meeting now" and the microphone icon should be changed to a phone. You are now using the conference phone as a microphone in Zoom.


Additional Information

  • You can mute the microphone by clicking the phone icon above "Mute," or by pressing the microphone symbol on the conference phone keypad.
