PaperCut Print Deploy

Overview

PaperCut Print Deploy is a platform used by Athletics IT to deploy drivers and install select printers based on directory IDs. This is currently only a feature for users with Windows computers. This article will outline how to find PaperCut and how to refresh your printers.

How to Refresh Your Printer(s)

  1. Ensure you are connected via Ethernet. The following steps will not work unless you are on a hardwired connection.
  2. Look for the PaperCut printer icon in the taskbar by the lower right-hand corner of your screen
    1. If you do not see it, click on the arrow to reveal the rest of your icons. The Papercut icon resembles a printer.
  3. Click on the icon and select View my printers

  1. The PaperCut application should open, giving you a list of all the printers available to be installed (or re-installed if they already exist on your device)

  1. Find the printer(s) you need and select Install. Do not close the application until the installation has finished. Double check the printer installed by going to Printers and Scanners in the Devices section of settings.

If you do not see your desired printer, please contact us directly by visiting athleticsit.umd.edu and selecting Get Help in the bottom right.


Printing from Google Chrome

If you are attempting to print from Google Chrome but the printer is not a visible option to print from, please follow the steps below.

  1. From the webpage you are trying to print, select the field next to Destination, followed by See more...

  1. Select your new printer from the list of destinations

  1. You should now be able to print from Google Chrome to your newly installed printer
