John Haines

Cyber Engineer

John Haines is a Cyber Engineer and cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland, where he earned a B.S. in Information Science with a minor in Cybersecurity. At Maryland Athletics IT, he supported infrastructure and security operations across various facilities—developing automation scripts for patch management, conducting vulnerability assessments, and assisting with networking and system administration. He also contributed full-stack web development work to internal tools, streamlining IT workflows and improving operational efficiency.

He currently works in cybersecurity at a large enterprise organization, where he focuses on securing internal systems and building resilient, scalable solutions. His technical interests include system hardening, security automation, full-stack development, and adversary emulation.
